Notebook, brown, metal binder, contains typed (carbon copies) of " 'Big Sandy' History Is An Interesting Pioneer Story", 11 pages, written in 1927 by Eugene Gammon, the child born in 1878 as described above. History of the first settlers in the area which includes the present-day towns of Simla and Ramah. Also contains a nine-page supplement written by Eugene's wife, Gertrude D. Gammon in 1956, which includes information on the brands of the many ranchers in the area. Julien Gammon's brand (3H) was issued by El Paso County in 1874. The inside cover of the book has a great family portrait taken about 1894. |
